Board care
Take care of your wood, and it will return the favour.
A wooden board is a living material. With a few simple habits, your Woodstock Craft board will keep its beauty and character for a long time.
After each use
Clean your board with a sponge or damp cloth, with a little washing-up liquid if needed.
Rinse briefly and dry it immediately with a clean cloth.
Then let the board dry completely in the open air, on its edge or in a position that allows good air circulation.
What to avoid
Never put your board in the dishwasher.
Also avoid:
- prolonged soaking;
- immersion in water;
- drying directly on a radiator;
- strong heat sources;
- large swings in temperature and humidity.
These conditions can cause warping, cracks or deterioration of the wood.
Caring for the wood
Over time and with washing, the wood can dry out and gradually lose its original appearance.
When needed, apply a food-safe oil in a thin layer to a clean, perfectly dry board.
Let the oil soak in, then carefully wipe off the excess.
How often depends on how you use your board and how it looks.
A board that lives with you
Natural variations in colour, grain and texture are part of the charm of Swiss wood.
Your board will evolve over time. That is also what makes each Woodstock Craft piece unique.
A little attention, and your board will stay with you for many years.
